...I'm a little embarassed to admit I'm not sure what a bushwacker is...history lesson please:)
They were civilians from Missouri before the Civil War who were pro-slavery fanatics. They came to Kansas to try to force slavery in Kansas. They falsified votes. This issue actually caused the start of the Ciil War.
