Jane is going back to Kenya

Jane is taking a shipping containter to Kenya to feed and house orphans. They call it a feeding station. Her sister Margaret and her husband Simon say there are kids sleeping in her front yard hoping for some food. She is bringing beds, computers, walkers and other supplies to outfit a girls school. She has been here in For Scott, Kansas organizing and raising money for the shipping costs. She is grateful to God for this. March 1, 2009.

Taken in my garage for our Christmas picture for that year. Standing Tracy and Gina. Seated Scott, Sydney, Becky and totem pole girl Carrie. I love this one. I thought Carrie and Becky shouldn't be that way. I love it anyway. There is another one whith Carrie holding tracy's teddy bear from when we were kids. Cute cute cute. Can we see Ryan in that face? I think we can.

Happy Birthday Mom !!

We went to have a hamburger to celebrate. We also had really great Strawberry Shortcake. Aunt Toady's on Hwy 54. East part of Fort Scott.

2/16/2009 The Pond

When Mom was about 12 she Grandma Mary and Laverne lived near this area by the train tracks and 6th Street in Fort Scott. This was a pond then. She never swam in it. She thought it was way deeper than it is. Grandma worked at Karbie's grocery store on Main Street where that Pizza place is. One or two doors away. She would hang the laundry outside. She would feed the Hobos that came to the back door. She would give them some bread and butter or stew whatever she had and they would sit on the back porch. She said sometimes it is the little things you do that makes all the differnce to someone. The rock you see in not a manmade wall it is the natural sedimentary stone so commom to this area of Kansas.
