GRIFFITHS...

Edward Griffiths was Grandma Mary's great grandfather. Born in Wales. Oliver Daniel Grifffiths' father. Frank Elmer Griffiths' grandfather. Edward was a coal miner also listed as a clay miner. Oliver Daniel and Frank Elmer were farmers and they worked in the coal mines when they couldn't fram due to weather. Frank Elmer lived in California in the 40's and in Centralia, Washington. Edward's brother John came over and lived with him. Edward came over to Kentucky from Wales in the 1850's. Lived in Kentucky. Oliver Daniel and Sarah Griffiths were born there. Their mother Margaret Dietrick died before 1871 in Illinois. They moved to Illinois after the Civil War when Oliver Daniel was 11. Magaret died in Ill in 1871. That same year he married Mary Emiline Cain. Oliver Daniel Griffiths moved to Kansas before 1884. Edward moved to Kansas in 1903 after Emiline Cain died. He married Mrs Anna Powell of a widow in Arcadia, Kansas. She died in January 1914 in Arcadia.

Frank Elmer left his wife Gertrude before 1920. He married Meta Grutrude Wallace Webster in 1930 - 38. Frank Elmer "Goldie" Griffiths married

1. Our grandmother Gertrude Margaret Mitchell in Feb 28th 1906 in Fort Scott, KS. His children were
Mary (Griffiths) Lifer Labrucheie's also Charles Frank Griffith and Lola Griffiths Picht Cline.
2. Meta Gertrude (Wallace) Webster in ?. They lived in Atascadero, CA in 1941.
3. Frances Euceba Francesca Howard in Aug 1942 in Centralia, WA.
4. Margaret Brine Bailey in 1950 Centralia, WA She kept his name until she died in 1971. She was a memebr of the Jolly12 cards club. They took turns being the hostess.
5. Hannah E (Swanson) Grimm in April 1963 in Centralia, WA for two years. She was a member of the Thimble Club and the Ivy Camp Drill Team. Divorced March 12, 1965.
6. Childhood friend Frieda Kalm in April 6, 1966. Frank Elmer died in 1973. She died in 1977. She s buried between her two husbands in Deerfield, MO.

Frank Elmer Griffith was a Farmer in 1918. He lost everything in the flood of 1917. It is said that it was so bad that there were cows stuck in the trees. He lived with his in laws after that. He worked in the Coal Mines and then left Gertrude before 1920. He was Greyhound Bus Co. agent, Dairyman, worked for Long Bell Lumber CO in Weed, CA. Deputy Sheriff in Centralia. He came back to Fort Scott Kansas in 1965 and married Frieda in April 1966. Mary took care of him when he came back. She had not seen him since 1920.
