Dad's Retirement Day

Mom and I went to Sears in East Los Angeles in 1992 to take some photos of Dad on his last day as a Sears Employee. He posed for me in the bright sun. This is taken standing in front of the Auto Center. The original is in color. I like this expression. He is like here she goes again! Taking my picture. I am just glad he didn't have those glasses that turn dark in the sun. He wore them alot after that. This is my favorite one from that day. He was 60 then. His badge says Gene Vanatter.

Good times in Fort Scott August 2008

Becky, my sister-in-law, in front of the diner Dad worked in in 1954 when Scott was a baby. Mom Dad and Scott moved to California for the job opportunities. My sister and I were born in Pasadena. I think Becky was too. Becky? True or not?

Happy 60th KNBC News !!

Blast from the past. This is me the last week that I worked at Channel 4 News. Cellomatic Productions. Nov 1980 to August 1985. I miss my friend Tiffany Zitowski who passed away a few years ago. She worked as an illustrator and I worked on the photo department. We had great times there. Having dinner at Chadney's on the rare times we could get away for dinner at the same time. We loved the fancy meal with the chilled salad forks. I remember having dinner there with her fiance Robert and his Mom Ruth. That was back in 1982 or 3. They got married in Wisconsin. She closed her eyes in 90% of her wedding pictures. She was very pretty and easy to get a great shot of. Good times. We would sometimes order Domino's Pizza and have it delivered. We would order a medium Italian Sausage and mushrooms. We would sit in Bob Mepham's office and eat it all. Just the two of us. I could burn it off back then. Those were the days.
